WRIST-ACTION ® SHAKER FOR SIMETHICONE TESTING
The Burrell Wrist-Action® Shaker has been modified
to meet the requirements for Simethicone Testing as
described in the current edition of the U.S. Pharmacopoeia. The testing
specifies, a shaking radius (as measured from the center of the shaft to
the center of the bottle) of 13.3+-0.4cm, an arc travel of 10 degrees
at a frequency of 300 +-10% oscillations per minute. Burrell redesigned
the mechanics of The Wrist-Action® Shaker and when this redesigned unit is
equipped with the Burrell Side-Arm Extension Clamps the performance requirements
for the Simethicone Foaming Solution Test are achieved. These standards
are met without compromising the Wrist-Action® Shakers outstanding
features.
Side-Arm Extension Clamps:

The
Simethicone Shaker Side Arm extension clamp. The Burrell Side-Arm
Extension Clamp holds up to a 3" diameter Container. As these
clamps attach to adjustable extension rods which are inserted into the
Side-Arm Shaft the Vessels can be precisely positioned at the required
radius setting. A quick adjustment allows easy repositioning of the rod
with the Clamp.

Controlled Adjustment:
The Position of the Lever Arm (setting of 6 ) is critical in the
performance of the Foaming Solution Test, as it establishes the shaking
amplitude and speed. Burrell Scientific has developed a simple, but very
effective tool for maintaining the position of the Lever Arm. Once the
Lever Arm is set at the proper position , a notched locking tool is inserted
into place holding the Lever Arm firmly in position.
Ready to Operate:
The Burrell Wrist-Action® Simethicone Shaker is shipped
ready-for-use out of the carton. Attach the Side-Arm extension Clamps and
plug the unit into a properly grounded 3-prong , 110 to 120 Volt, AC power
source. Firmly grip the owner-supplied vessels with the Clamps, move the Lever
Arm to the proper position to start mixing, slip the notched locking tool into
position set the timer and begin operations.
