Reagent for determining carbon monoxide in gas analysis. Has no appreciable vapor pressure; forms a stable compound with carbon monoxide; is acid-preventing sticking stopcocks; will not absorb hydrogen, nitrogen, or hydro carbons; but does absorb ethylene, propylene, and acetylene. Also absorbs oxygen slowly. Can be used alone or in conjunction with cuprous chloride; the latter, in the first pipette to remove the bulk of carbon monoxide and Cosorbent, in the second pipette to remove last traces.
